Theatre is a passion I’ve had for a long time, so it was a no brainer for me to be a part of Ateneo Blue Repertory— what came as a surprise to me was that my first experience as a member of the organization was that I got to work as a member of the Public Relations Team. As a member of blueREP’s 27th Newbie production, Carrie, I found myself a new playing field in Theater Management that I genuinely loved to do, getting to express a level of creativity and develop a sense of professionalism within the Theater Management environment. The hard work and strategy put into PR teams to bring to life a production is what helped me develop my work ethic going into my further studies in Ateneo. Even if we aimed for professionalism, fun and passion were always elements that I got to in experience every production I’ve been a part of, never forgetting to bring the magic of Theatre into the everyday experience of our audiences. I look back over to my four years spent in Ateneo, and there is no doubt in my mind that being a member of blueREP was part of the foundation that molded me into the leader and professional I am today. This is why I’m proud to have started my blueREP journey with Public Relations and I’m also ending it with Public Relations in my last production. 4 years, 3 competencies, 7 productions. Thank you, Thirty.

If there's one decision that I will never regret, it has to be choosing Public Relations when I first joined as a newbie. I thought that I'd get tired of it after my newbie production, but I'm still here—3 (going 4) productions later! I stayed in PR because of the environment. The department welcomes you with open arms no matter how inexperienced you are with PR. The department will hold your hand, teach you the ropes, then it will let you run wild. You'll often see PR members planning together and bouncing ideas off of each other—the energy in this team is infectious. PR accepts our enthusiasm and creativity; the department loves to bring bright ideas into reality. More than acquiring knowledge and experience about media and communications, I found a home in Public Relations. It helped me find things that I actually liked doing outside of academics, and it turned my love for theatre into something more tangible. ♡

I entered the PR team of blueREP as an unsure and scared freshman but was welcomed by an incredibly warm, talented, and energetic set of individuals. This team allowed me to explore my creativity and push it to bounds I didn’t even think possible. I learned how to contact and deal with press and media organizations, which I’m sure will prove useful beyond my stay in blueREP. The PR team has also helped me find more confidence in myself, as they were always there to support me and encouraged my ideas, even when I didn’t have much faith in them myself. The people who form the team are what I love most about PR. They are not only talented individually; in fact, when we put our brain cells together, I believe our creative energy increases even more. Aside from our skills, the team is simply just great to be around because of how fun and lively we are — even short calls together are always littered with smiles and laughter. Ultimately, PR is the team to join if you want to be able to develop your creativity and your communicational skills as well. If you want to be surrounded by amazingly awesome, super sexy people, we got you covered too! And if that isn’t enough to convince you, joining PR also gives you the chance to live out your TikTok influencer dreams! Let’s get that clout, together :>>
