Working under the logistics department in blueREP, I learned how to transform a creative vision into tangible, quality items that people can enjoy. I spent a lot of time talking to offices and haggling for reservations of any kind. Our department ensured the merchandise and reservations for each production, so it really got stressful at times. But I genuinely loved what I was doing, and it made the experience worth more than the skills I acquired or the work ethic I developed. As I saw this same love reflected in all the members I worked with, it made blueREP such a safe space for me. For that, I’ll always be grateful for my years working with the organization.
If you enjoy looking at the big picture, engaging in some creative problem-solving, and brushing up on your communication skills, then Logistics might just be the home for you. Throughout my two years in blueREP Logistics, I’ve had lots of fun in securing venues, handling deliveries, sourcing promotional material, and so on and so forth. Doesn’t sound flashy, but there’s some unmatched satisfaction in watching things run smoothly, or in telling someone “Yup, that’s being taken care of!” That’s when you feel like you’re part of the backbone of something great. 10/10, would do logistics again.
From my first production as a newbie, blueREP has allowed me to steadily grow into my skills by helping me experience an environment that didn't discriminate against growth. I met great people in blueREP and even greater in Logistics. With our members, I learned how to be a marketing and customer service intern, a Shopee seller, a newbie coder (Google sheets and Discord I’m coming for you), a streamer (OBS things only), and a Zoom manager. The members I met along the way, both newbies and oldies, are people I trust to embody the values in blueREP while also being kind and respectful to themselves and to others. My blueREP journey is not yet done, and there’s still so much more to learn in future productions. I hope you also get to experience these just as I did!
